In the Philippines, investment funds are called Collective Investment Schemes (CIS). A CIS is a fund that is usually operated by a fund management company or a trust department of a bank. These entities solicit funds from the public for investment and reinvested in specific types of securities depending on the nature of the investment Fund. CIS in the Philippine usually take the form of UITFs, Mutual Funds and Exchange Traded Fund (ETF).
